Gut, Bacteria, & Parasites
A comprehensive look at the gut microbiome, digestion, intestinal health, and potential unwanted organisms.
This at-home, three-day stool test takes a deeper look at what may be happening within the digestive system. It evaluates beneficial and potentially problematic bacteria, yeast, parasites, digestive function, absorption, and markers associated with intestinal irritation and inflammation.
What It Measures
Beneficial Gut Bacteria: Evaluates levels and balance of expected bacterial flora
Dysbiotic Bacteria: Looks for potentially problematic or pathogenic bacterial overgrowth
Yeast: Evaluates yeast levels and possible overgrowth
Parasites: Uses microscopy to look for protozoa, roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes
Specific Organisms: Includes testing for Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and H. pylori
Digestion & Absorption: Evaluates markers that provide information about how well food is being digested and nutrients absorbed
Short-Chain Fatty Acids: Looks at important compounds produced by gut bacteria during fermentation
Intestinal Health: Evaluates findings such as red and white blood cells, mucus, and other markers that may indicate irritation or inflammation
Occult Blood: Screens for microscopic blood within the stool
Why You May Want to Run It
This test may be helpful when exploring ongoing concerns such as bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, irregular bowel movements, nausea, digestive issues, fatigue, brain fog, or unexplained gastrointestinal symptoms.
Because gut health involves much more than simply having “good” or “bad” bacteria, this test provides a broader picture of the gut microbiome, potential pathogens, digestive function, absorption, and intestinal environment. Results can help identify areas that may need additional support or medical follow-up and guide a more individualized approach to gut health.
